Ep. 74 - Night of the Comet (1984)

This week G-Baby and the Usual Suspect Steve flashback to a mid-80's horror/sci-fi flick about the end of the world, where a handful of survivors must come to grips with LA becoming a ghost town/zombie wasteland overnight by way of a sinister meteor in Night of the Comet from 1984.
Join us as we continue our bootackular part deux to discuss pumpkin variants, getting goofed in the corn maze, play a quick game of "Finish the Lyric" (Young Jeezy edition), and ask ourselves when the world ends, where will you draw your line in the sand?

Ep. 73 - The Borderlands (2013)

This week G-Baby and the Usual Suspect Steve return to horror in order to properly herald the coming of the Halloween season as we give a butcher's to the little known found footage delight called The Borderlands (aka Final Prayer in the US and Canada) from 2013 which has been called the UK's most disturbing found footage film ever, okurrr.
Join us as we journey across the pond to brush up on found footage 101, talk about some of the generational tactics employed by religious institutions to bring about pagan assimilation, bumping the Pristiq jingle part deux and our own plan to convert the masses, Steve's fear of confined spaces, and we remember simpler times where we had to lug around a caselogic binder full of CD's in order to get our musical fix.
The porpoises, midnight companions and keen observers, bathed in unholy water and cast asunder, seek redemption and reconsecration in the eyes of the almighty god.

Ep. 72 - They Cloned Tyrone (2023)

This week G-Baby and the Usual Suspect Steve take on a brand new flick neither have seen before - a cinematic cocktail that pays homage to the neon-lit streets  of the 70s blaxploitation era to great effect, folded in with equal parts mystery, comedy, sci-fi and maybe a touch of horror in Juel Taylor's directorial debut, They Cloned Tyrone from 2023.
Join us across 110th street as we discuss beige bananas, bumping the Pristiq jingle, getting hypnotized by the elementary book fair and those Magic Eye posters, connecting with our characters and I think we'll just go ahead and place Jamie Foxx in the pantheon of porpoise patron saints, he just don't miss.
The porpoises, midnight companions and keen observers grown in a lab and taught to assimilate will rebel and turn against their puppeteers in the shadows.  Off to see the wizard again, or something like that.

On this episode we'll talk about the perhaps collective Cronenberg family trauma manifesting as grotesque body horror art, the fatwa issued against Salman Rushdie, the cyclical nature of our world, and gelatinous reptile/amphibian cuisine.
